Short-lived glory: Yasir Shah slumps to fifth spot in ICC Test rankings

  s       Tuesday, July 26, 2016
Master's legend Yasir Shah has been consigned to fifth spot in the ICC Player Rankings for Test Bowlers taking after Pakistan's bleak execution at the Old Trafford Test against England.

The Pakistan leg-spinner had shot to the highest point of the ICC Test knocking down some pins rankings just a week ago after his stellar 10-wicket pull drove Pakistan to a 75-run triumph against England in the opening Test at Lord's.

His rule was brief, be that as it may, as the Lord's man-of-the-match could just oversee one wicket at Old Trafford. Britain fixed a 330-run win against Pakistan in the second Test in Manchester.

Shah has been supplanted by India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, whose 7-83 pull in the second innings in the primary Test against the West Indies in Antigua helped India win the match by an innings and 92 runs.

Shah now sits underneath James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Dale Steyn.

Pakistan captain Misbah ul Haq crept up one spot to eighth position in the Test Batsmen rankings. Younus Khan then slipped four spots to number 10.

Britain batsman Joe Root, who scored his Test-best 254 at Old Trafford against Pakistan in the continuous Test arrangement, climbed to second position, while commander Alastair Cook denoted an arrival to the main 10 at number nine.
