The triumphant group posted on Facebook: "We are The Dropbears. We came here to take the battle to America. We came here to demonstrate the universal quidditch group what we're made of. What's more, we did it. This group went from quality to quality in the course of recent months. The Australian quidditch group couldn't be prouder."

The UK Quidditch group completed third in the competition, beating Canada 190-60.
